Políticas del realismo y del socio-construccionismo en psicología

Este artículo presenta una discusión acerca de las implicaciones políticas del realismo y del socio-construccionismo en psicología. Se comienza resumiendo el debate que Kenneth Gergen y Carl Ratner sostuvieron entre 2002 y 2005 sobre el positivismo, el construccionismo social y las implicaciones políticas de las teorías psicológicas. Luego se presenta la discusión entre Carl Ratner y David Pavón-Cuéllar, llevada a cabo en 2015 en Morelia, México. Esta discusión aborda temas como las contradicciones entre el realismo y el socio-construccionismo, la libertad del sujeto, el idealismo y el positivismo, la objetividad científica, las afirmaciones de verdad y sus resultados prácticos en las teorías psicológicas, la conexión entre ciencia y política, las posturas de Gergen respecto a otras teorías, la fragmentación social como consecuencia del construccionismo social, la tecnocracia, el cultismo, el solipsismo, la neutralidad de la ciencia y su rol en el régimen nazi, la religión y las psicologías indígenas.
